Why Onesimus?

In the aftermath of Covid lockdown, a group of regional church leaders recognised the need for a reliable source of practical support for local churches. While many local congregations had embraced new approaches to mission and ministry, they had also recognised the increasing demands of contemporary church life and were struggling to maintain these alone.

The kind of help they needed varied from help with book-keeping and accounts to working out whether and how to develop their presence online. Alongside this, many who had become geographically removed from their foundational church community were able to re-connect thanks to the transitions to being church online. But as churches returned to physical gatherings, many wanted to retain a sense of belonging through some form of ongoing community. Onesimus was founded as a response to these and other contemporary needs and challenges.
