People become part of the Onesimus Community for different reasons. Here we outline some of those and also offer a little more information about how and why that might become a reality for you. Our desire is that wherever possible, people flourish as disciples through being part of a local church community in their neighbourhood. We don't really offer Onesimus as an alternative to that, but rather a way of enabling ministries that serve as a complement to it.

Onesimus Congregations

We have a small but growing number of local congregations that are ready to welcome people from their local community - especially those who are exploring what it means to live as a follower of Jesus. Please look up our list of local congregations to see if there is one near you. You can use the contact link to connect with them further.

If you are already part of an Onesimus Congregation, you might be considering becoming part of our community in a more formal way. Please talk to your local leaders who can help you consider if this is right for you.

Online Community

While we work with people from many Christian traditions, Onesimus has its roots in the Baptist Community and exists to particularly support Baptist Congregations in the North Western Region of England and North Wales. We welcome those who have a historic association with us, but for various reasons can no longer engage in the life of a local Baptist church. Through our online community you can build relationships with others in a similar situation, and actively engage in praying for and remaining in touch with our North Western Baptist Community.

We also welcome to our online community, individuals with particular gifts, skills and experience that they are willing to share with other local churches through the Onesimus community. As part of our online community you can discover potential opportunities for your gifts to be shared, and to hear of how others are making a difference alongside you.

Onesimus Supporters

We are grateful for the support of those who may not be able to actively contribute to the life of our community but share our vision and want to offer their financial support. This may often be because of an interest in a specific local congregation or ministry that we offer. If you want to support us in this way, you can download a gift aid form. which also gives details of our bank account. Please make sure that you specify whether you want to support a particular individual or project, or whether your gift is for our general work and mission.
